LitterBox Overhaul!
- Gather a thorough history
- Draw map of house and identify activities of cats (locations of feeding, litterboxes, sleep, etc)
- Identify all behaviors that could be contributing to the problem (i.e how well your cats get along can be affecting litterbox problems)
- Discuss body language so you can determine what can be causing additional stress
- Classify triggers that illicit any of the behavior that you want to change
- Determine ways we can change the environment to ensure success for your cat after I leave
- Identify "next steps" to ensure success (i.e. buy new litter or go to your veterinarian)

- A description of my observations and a written plan will be provided within 48 hours of our consultation and with your permission a copy will be faxed to your veterinarian.
This is a comprehensive behavior package so that you have the tools to resolve your litterbox problems. Only occasionally is a follow-up visit is needed.
I almost always require a medical work-up to be done by your veterinarian when considering behavior modification for your cat. Research has shown a large percentage of cats that have litterbox problems, in particular when they are urinating on horizontal surfaces, also have a medical problem. Solutions for litterbox problems are best handled when both your veterinarian and your behaviorist are working together to create effective treatment that involves behavior therapy and sometimes medication.
